Epoxy Joint Sealings

WEBAC Joint Sealants

WEBAC joint sealing systems comprise different products for joint repair. They are especially designed for the post-construction sealing of construction joints, expansion joints and separation joints.

  • Construction joints form during the construction of buildings, for instance, when concreting work is carried out at intervals.
  • Expansion joints are designed to prevent tension cracks. These joints, also referred to as movement joints, form if materials with different expansion properties (changes in temperature, moisture or loads) are used in the building structure.
  • Separation joints occur between directly adjoining building structures or construction segments. They are designed to absorb future subsidence and reduce noise transmission.

Joints in building structures must be repaired if they are leaking due to stress, environmental impacts or aging.

Sealing of expansion joints and floor joints

Hydro structure gel is generally injected for repairing expansion joints. Floor joints are filled with sealing compound for joints based on epoxy. WEBAC products for joint sealing are resistant to salts detrimental to the building structure, lyes and acids if their concentration does not exceed that usually found in building structures.

Instructions for use

WEBAC products for joint sealing are either applied by injection with a 2C pump or by grouting. Impact profiles are pressed into the joint by hand or using a special chisel hammer.

Please note when injecting joint sealants: the injection material must not flow off in an uncontrolled manner. This requires an abutment on the inside of the joint – e.g. an interior joint tape. In addition, ventilation must be possible. When using a 2C pump a sufficient volume flow must be ensured. Only then will the components be mixed properly in the static mixer.

Before grouting, the joints must be prepared according to DIN 18540. The material is then mixed at the specified mixing ratio and poured into the joint.

When interrupting work for long and after work, tools and equipment must be thoroughly cleaned with water or WEBAC® Cleaner A depending on the product used. Cured material must be removed from tools and equipment mechanically and, if necessary, be etched with WEBAC® Cleaner B beforehand.
