WEBAC® 1610: PU injection resin for the stabilization of masonry

WEBAC® 1610 is a PU injection resin characterized by its exceptional compressive and bending tensile strength. WEBAC® 1610 is used for sealing and stabilizing dry structural elements as well as for their structural bonding. WEBAC® 1610 is also suitable for filling cavities and is specially designed for the stabilisation of masonry. The material has a slight foaming tendency when mixed with water. Under dry conditions WEBAC® 1610 cures to form a compact, watertight material without foam formation.

Restoration of Hamburg’s historic Chamber of Commerce with WEBAC® 1610

WEBAC® 1610 was used as stabilizing material for the restoration of Hamburg’s historic Chamber of Commerce. The order read as follows: sealing of the basement vaults and stabilization of the vaulted ceiling. The aim of the restoration was to bond and close the cracks in the masonry to obtain the required structural strength. The contractor first patched the cracks in the vaulting cells with quick-setting cement to prevent the resin from escaping. WEBAC® 1610 was then injected at low pressure. Thanks to the injection of PU resin the historic structure and the statics of the building could successfully be restored.
